What can I expect during virtual therapy?

Virtual therapy offers identical clinical efficacy with the added benefit of flexibility, allowing sessions to seamlessly fit into your schedule.
Is virtual therapy as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research consistently demonstrates that telepsychology is just as effective as in-person treatment for a wide range of clinical concerns. Dr. Koenig utilizes the same evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches adapted seamlessly for a secure online environment.
What is PSYPACT and do I qualify?
PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows licensed psychologists to legally and ethically provide telepsychological services across state lines. In addition to Florida an California, because Dr. Koenig holds a PSYPACT APIT credential, he can work with clients residing in over 40+ participating states. If you reside in a PSYPACT-participating state, you are eligible for treatment.
Rates & Insurance
Dr. Koenig is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. Full payment is required before services commence.
Individual and Couples Therapy: Dr. Koenig offers different session lengths. Rates available upon request.
Testing Accommodations: Rates range depending on case complexity, scope of work, specific exam requirements, and timeline constraints.
Independent Psychological Evaluations (IPEs) & Expert Consultation: Fee varies based on case complexity and specific legal or referral requirements. Please contact the office directly to discuss your client's needs.
Educational Advocacy Services: Customized rates are determined based on your family's specific advocacy requirements.
Do you accept insurance?
Dr. Koenig is an out-of-network provider and does not interface directly with insurance carriers. However, depending on your health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, your services may be covered in full or in part via out-of-network benefits. Upon request, our office will gladly provide you with a clinical receipt (Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
What questions should I ask my insurance provider to check my benefits?
To determine your out-of-network mental health coverage, we recommend calling the number on the back of your insurance card and asking the following:
Does my health insurance plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of the session fee is reimbursed if I see an out-of-network clinical psychologist and submit a Superbill?
Do I have an out-of-network deductible that must be met first? If so, what is the amount?
Does my plan limit the number of therapy sessions allowed per calendar year?
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, as well as HSA (Health Savings Account) and FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required. Appointments canceled or missed with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session rate.
